1.
Raventhrone was formed in 2001 in Kraków, Poland by two teenage Black Metal enthusiasts who took the ritual names of Eihort (guitars, arrangements) and Raven (vocals, concepts and basically that's it). Inspired by early records of Immortal, Ancient Rites, Graveland and (curiously enough) Blind Guardian the duo worked hard on their first and as-of-yet only song "Celtic Battles". Lyrical concepts were drawn from the Iron Will to fight against christian pestilence and Warhammer and Slaine books. Unfortunately the flame that burned inside young hearts lasted only for enough time to finish aforementioned song and shoot a corpsepainted photosession in the abyss of Raven's municipal basement. Right after that the members of Raventhrone went their separate ways. Through 18 long years former bandmates carved their own paths within the music scene of the underground, but still the memory of their common project haunted them from beyond its grave, until in 2019 The Fall (formerly known as Eihort, currently engaged in Medico Peste, Over the Voids and Owls Woods Graves among numerous others) suggested to Hellstorm formerly known as Raven, may or may not be recognized from Ragehammer, Exmortum or Them Pulp Criminals) a one-off resurrection of Raventhrone in order to record the ancient tune of Black Metal war and therefore pay it an apt honour it deserved. And so, on the fateful night of Worm Fullmoon, the last night of Winter 2019, Raventhrone was brought back from the dead in order to unleash gruesome warhymn dated back to the dawn of the Millenium... The recording presented here is an attempt to capture as much of true Raventhrone spirit as possible. Unfortunately the original handwritten lyric sheet and melody recordings were lost for good during trials and tribulations of 18 years period, but the band tried to emulate the mindset from way back until it was mutually agreed to capture lyrical, musical and atmospheric climate of whatever was unleashed in 2001.
